I have many best Skids singles alll for differing reasons (no pun intended)
I love "woman in winter " and the reaction of the crowds singing at the gigs lately just made it even better .... (goosebumps...)
However the Charles ep was the first and best ...but you must understand that in context ...there was no bootlegs available at this time..so to be able to listen to them at home ....and learn the words ...was special .
The day it was released there was a buzz in Dunfermline ...and it was late being delivered to Muirs as it did no arrive until after 10am ....so can you imagine that hour from 9-10 am at 17years young ....I still have flashbacks , they released a number of singles and albums as we know ....but the first one was very special ..
yup indeed its a hard call :) would have been easier asking for the least favourite
Christ, how do you chose one single from them classics?
Was there a bad single - can't really remember fields - thought Iona was brilliant - however all the earlier tracks - "ARE PURE DEAD BRILLIANT MAN"
my fave Skids track is the B side version of "Out of Town" (Masquerade B side?) the guitars roar a lot more than on the reissued best of tracks etc; anyone have an mp3 version? Afraid I can't convert from my 7" copy as yet!
