acoustic ITV and Saints Are Coming

acoustic ITV and Saints Are Coming

I've heard a few different opinions on these acoustic versions, just wondering if there were anymore comments or opinions on these 2 tracks.

Just for the record I dont like them very much, but Saints was the better of the two.

   I really  like the

I really  like the Saints played this way  (similar to Bruces version ) and Into the valley with a few tweeks  could be a really good version ,(maybe even good enough to be a soundtrack for a film wink ,wink )

Totally agree Cob - Saints

Totally agree Cob - Saints was the better of the two. I thought it worked really well. Didn't like ITTV acoustic at all.

Personally i thought they could have just got away with Fields and Saints but good on them for trying something new.

Bruce does a great version of

Bruce does a great version of The Saints .... Im not a BW fan and dinnae really get into his new stuff either but heard Bruce doing Saints many times and its way more than acceptable ......... again one of those things without analysing the 2 acoustic tracks it just didnae do it for me

I know a lot of people love them though so thats great! cannae please all of the people all of the time etc etc and think its great that they found time to try different versions

also prefer Skids stuff definitely "POW right in yer face!" hehehe

loved hearing the acoustic

loved hearing the acoustic stuff at the audience with jobby nite, but would rather have had full blasted skids songs as encores at gigs, great that they tried something a bit different but thought it dropped the tempo of the gig for the 2 songs. 'another emotion and vanguards 'would have went down so much better.

Didn't really blow my stack

Didn't really blow my stack either, reckon it was a bit of long winded way of showing that the two songs were more than just full on ballsy punk songs, agree it slowed the flow of the gig down a wee bit but no where near to the point of killing it, would have loved to have heard Another Emotion as stated on the set list though as it's a personal fave. Still, not going to nit pick too much, a feckin awesome weekend and a couple of cracking gigs

I think if theyd done the accoustic stuff in the middle and then picked up the tempo again but good to hear a few oldies like charles and open sound , wonder if iona was considered ?

on a bit of a Bowie trip at

on a bit of a Bowie trip at the moment and just thought I would add a wee bit about what Alan C said about showing these 2 songs were more than full on balsy songs

Scary Monsters and Supercreaps album has 2 versions of a song called Its No Game.

The first version (part1) is full on attitude, Bowie pretty much screams the lyrics, but at the end of the album its the second version (part2) is more relaxed.

Think Bowie said that was to show that feelings about things can change but the messages can stay the same, although ITV and Saints were not as full on the song still tells the same story or puts across the same message.

not exactly going from full on electric to acoustic but never thought of it in the way that Alan C mentioned until now.
