New Town Killers Premiere 31st October 2008

Richard Jobson's new movie, NEW TOWN KILLERS was screened at the London BFI Film Festival on 28th & 30th October at the Odeon West End.

Find below reviews.

I really enjoyed this film and was immediately grabbed by the opening soundtrack - LOUD, raw and edgy.

New Town Killers is a highly topical viscious thriller set in a dark, deprived and depressing Edinburgh, far away from the gloss of Princes Street and the tourism of the Royal Mile.

Richard Jobson's tight script and loud, terrific soundtrack makes for addictive, tense and nailbiting viewing.

The ruthless exploitation of those weakest in our society is personified by Dougray Scott who exudes psychopathic menace and relentlessly hunts down his prey in a terrible 'game' which has similarities to games available on X-Box or Playstation.

I can see this film appealing to a wide audience, not least teenage boys who will be able to switch almost seamlessly from their consoles to the big screen.

Highly recommended.

Richard, Rusty Egan and myself posing in our trendy PX gear at Burntisland Fairground, Fife c August 1979 (Stuart presumably took the photo).
